What is Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is word processing software. Microsoft Word is the part of the MS Office package and it is mainly used for word processing. Word processing means formatting and editing of content.

What is difference between Save and Save As?

First Time the save option will work save as. Second time the save option will save the changes in the document permanently. Save as option is used to create duplicate document. You can rename the document or change the location at the time of save as option.

How to open MS Word?

Press Windows Key + R to open run command prompt and type winword to open MS Word.

=rand() Function

=rand() is used to generate three random paragraphs and you can use these paragraph to practice
=rand(5,5)this function will return five paragraphs that have five sentences.

How to select contents in Microsoft Word?

  1. Ctrl+ A to Select all content of the document
  2. Triple click on paragraph to select a paragraph
  3. Double click on word to select a word
  4. Ctrl + click to select a sentence
  5. To select a line click at the front of line
  6. To select the paragraph double click at the front of paragraph
  7. To select all the content of document triple click at the front of any paragraph.
  8. Drag the mouse to select any content
  9. Shift + right or left arrow key to select letter by letter
  10. Ctrl + Shift + right or left arrow key to select word by word
  11. Ctrl + Shift + down or up arrow key to select paragraph by paragraph
  12. Shift + Down or up arrow key to select line by line
  13. Ctrl + Double click on word to select multiple word simultaneously
  14. Shift + End to select the content from insertion point to the end of line
  15. Shift + Home to select the content from insertion point to the beginning of line

What is hyperlink?

Hyperlink is a special text on which we click to open attached address of files, pictures, websites etc. Ctrl + K is shortcut key to create hyperlink. Press Ctrl + Left mouse click to open a link.

What is bookmark?

Bookmark is a link to a particular location within document.

What is cross-reference?

Cross reference is a link to an object (like picture, table, equation or heading etc.) within document.

Reference Tab contains resources for researchers and anyone in professional field. The reference tab allows you to create a table of contents, footnote, endnotes, cross references, select MLA or APA or ISO formats and Index, Glossary or Terminology etc.

What is Table of contents ?

A list of headings or subheadings with page number is called table of contents.

What is Footnote?

Footnote: If we insert a condition on a page and in the bottom we discuss this condition is called footnote.

What is Endnote?

Endnote: If we insert a condition on a page and at the end of document we discuss this condition is called Endnote.

What is Citation?

The basic details of source of reference like book name, author, publisher, publishing year etc is called citation.

What is Bibliography?

List of Citation is called Bibliography.

What is Table of figures ?

A list of figures with page number is called table of figure.

What is Index?

Index is a list of important word or group of words (keywords) with their page number in an alphabetical order.

What is Definition List or Glossary or Terminology?

Definition list or glossary or terminology is list of important definition given in books or chapters.
